History surrounding Chehonia

Chehonia is the first and most densely-populated planet in the Chehonian Federation Of Caniforms (CFOC, or "the Federation"). Home to a wealth of native canines, and contemporarily, being a hub for caniforms across the wider galactic economic area, it is colloquially called the "dog planet", or the "dog bed of the galaxy". While in 2566 Chehonia is now one of the galaxy's few true ecumenopoli, it was originally a lush landscape of green; traditionally wetter than Terra, covered in savannah, tundra and marshland. As the Chehonians evolved, their need for space did, too, and it was in 2086 that the Chehonians began to outgrow their home planet. Luckily, despite their isolation, evolutions in spacefaring technology came rather quickly, and over the ensuing 30 years, 2086-2116, multiple innovations set the aspiring canines to the stars. The development of the Chehon race's prized CANI-X112 engine by a Chehonian red fox named "Mikkel Räv" is the most notable invention of Chehon's so-called 'Stellar Growth' age, and even in 2566, this engine still holds merit today; Mikkel's proprietary engine design being employed across the galaxy, including by megacorporations such as Nanotrasen Incorporated. This new age propelled the Chehonians into the stars, and while back home was becoming crowded, the canines didn't struggle to find new homes among the stars.

However, it took some time for Chehonia to reach the ecumenopolis it is famous for today. Even fifty years after the Chehonians had began to explore the stars, there were still expanses of savannah, marshland, and tundra across the planet. While the Chehonians searched for suitable homes among the stars, and began to settle their paws elsewhere, expansions into the nature throughout Chehonia, and strict conservation efforts began to take place. Chehonia's old industrial sentiments had taken their toll on the planet, and it was in 2232 that another Chehonian scientist would make a new stellar innovation. While not traditionally regarded as the founders of terraforming, Chehonian innovation was exceptionally advance for the year, and they are contemporarily known as some of the strongest researchers in the Terran economic zone. Through rigorous effort and innovation at the very precipice of Chehonian lives, the Chehonians would be the first race recorded to have geomechanically engineered their planet to both atmospheric and climate stability. This innovation spurred what would be known as "The Great Expanse" across Chehonia, and what was once rich flora was replaced by metropolis.

In the modern era, Chehonia has only three small areas of wild land remaining, conserved originally by the Chehonian government, but now by the CFOC themselves; infringement on this natural land being punished historically by life imprisonment or execution. The three areas of land, some one-hundred hectares each represent either tundra, savannah, or marshland, and each are referred to as the "Chehon Expanse", with some locals individualizing them with replacing 'Chehon' with the respective expanse's biome.

Life in Chehonia

Despite the planet's unification, there are still distinct main 'cities' and areas that spot the planet, with the most common count being eight distinct cultural divisions that separate the otherwise unified body. The planet's capital, Chehonia, is known to be the busiest and most bustling sprawl across the planet, containing both the Chehonian Institute of Research, the most renowned technological institute in EROS Sector, and the University of Pawford, named after former Chehonian President of the Chehonian Government Pawford Lápin, prior to the creation of the CFOC. Chehonia is the capital and original planet, and is cut up into its continental bodies (even though it's all one unified thing): Newtown, Oldtown, North Chehon, South Chehon, Midtown, The Chehon Expanse, and West Chehon.

they have a PMC called Mesomelas Inc.

South Chehon: Essentially the slummery, a rough city.

West Chehon: More urban, but still citylike. Definitely an upscale area gentrified over time.

North Chehon: Essentially a sprawling economic zone: busy, where many jobs are concentrated, and the hub of economics/commerce

Newtown: The last development, lots of middle and working class housing

Oldtown: The first development, though quickly overshone by other areas. Probably the least dense area on the whole planet, yet still sizeable and well-populated

Midtown: The second development, now bridging the gap between Newtown and Oldtown, and a former highly industrial city. Now obviously much more advanced, but still engrained with that industrial spirit and many old industrial buildings/architecture. Hub of culture slowly being gentrified :)

Chehon Expanse: The last remaining expanse of wild land in Chehon. It's protected by the CFOC by law, and is a few hundred square miles of lush foliage. While parks exist, this is the last remnant of the former world before Chehonia
