Antagonist Guidelines
You're not expected to win. Do not expect it. Just have fun.
General Guidelines
These guidelines should be followed by all Antagonists/Ghost Roles regardless of role/position.
- If your role is not mechanically dependent on the corpse/body of a player, leave the dead/dying body where it is, or move them to a more recoverable position. Depending on severity, this can be an antagban.
- Do not permanently round-end someone without first A-Helping. You will NEVER receive an objective to permanently round-end someone. This means destroying the brain! Doing this is an immediate antagban.
- Being salty about losing a fight is unsportsmanlike and can get you a warning. Everyone’s goal is to play and have fun in a video game.
- You are not entitled to an aheal or revive and it’s entirely within the discretion of the admin/moderator on duty. Do not expect a revival.
- Your goal should NEVER be the dismantling, destruction, or murder of the entire station unless otherwise stated for your antag role/goals.
- DO NOT under any circumstances, Antag at interlink station, this is an IMMEDIATE Antagban and potentially a temporary ban.
- Have clear, specific objectives which can be easily gauged. Vague, wildcard objectives will not be tolerated.
- If you have an objective that is to maroon, or round remove a player. And that player has round removal preferences set to NO. Then you are to AHelp either for a different objective, or for guidance.
- For ghost roles, do not deviate from your standards without AHelping for permission first. Breaking standards is grounds for immediate removal from ghost role permissions.
Roleplay Rules
These rules MUST be followed in our environment. FailRP will not be tolerated. Failure to adhere to these rules may result in antagban.
- You must OPFOR and notate yourself as ‘FRIENDLY ANTAG’ as one of your objectives / descriptors if your intentions in-game are not mechanically-focused and instead RP-Focused. This will cover yourself from any wrongful deaths from FailRP validhunting.
- Your goal while antagging should never be the entire dismantling and murder of the station. Doing so will just trigger an admin response. If you deviate from your assigned goals too much or too far, you may encounter admin intervention.
- ROLEPLAY IS ENCOURAGED OVER MECHANICS. If you would LIKE to attempt roleplaying your antag over mechanically robusting, please include ((ROLEPLAY FOCUSED)) in your OPFOR request. THIS PROTECTS YOU FROM RDM. (Random Murder).
- Do not ERP bait by convincing someone you want to ERP, then committing antag activities upon them.
Capture Rules
Caught someone as an Abductor? Already made some eggs from a captive as Spiders? Follow these rules or face a bwoink.
- Roleplay will always take priority over mechanics. If you want to roleplay with someone in any capacity, during captivity and they are amicable to it, you are entitled to roleplay it. Validhunting and otherwise interrupting a ‘scene’ is a notable offense.
- If you are mechanically-focused, you cannot hold a body in a location for more than 15 REAL Minutes without crewmates knowing of the location. ((This is a loose rule. It may or may NOT be enforced depending on the situation)).
- If your antag requires the use of corpses, you cannot ‘guard’ a corpse from recovery. You must allow stationers to recover bodies. To guard a corpse from recovery is effectively ending a players’ round. Depending on the severity, you may receive a warning.
- FOR CREW: Fifteen minutes past? Bored of waiting for rescue? AHelp will allow you to get drop-podded directly to medical upon request so you can re-enter the round from an otherwise unrecoverable location. Please do not abuse this, we know when you get downed.
- PLEASE Follow common sense. If you are roleplaying in the middle of a hallway as a Nightmare, there is nothing an admin can do to prevent a stationer from murdering you. If you wish to roleplay with a partner, please move it someplace private for antags.
INDIVIDUAL STANDARDS
If you need standards for individual roles before you sign on as the antag of choice for your round, PLEASE refer to the side tabs for your antag type. Failure to adhere to the standards present in this document may result in your antagban.
Abductor
Your goal as an abductor may depend on your objectives, here are some examples of objectives you may have:
- Replace the organs of X Crewmates
- Abduct and conduct experiments on X Crewmates
- Steal the X.
Standards to adhere to
- You are beholden to the capture rules as Abductor. Your goal should be to abduct, experiment, release.
- You may flag as friendly for this antag.
- Roleplaying is highly encouraged. You basically have a private room for your captors. Be Creative!
- Your goal is never to murder/kill/destroy.
Nuclear Operative/Assault Operative/Lone Operative
Welcome to the big leagues! You’ve made it to Syndicate. What now?? You may have been selected to become a Battlecruiser Crewmember, Captain, Nukie, Lone Operative or Overwatch! But – What the fuck do you do? What is that TICKING noise in your backpack??
- You are considered a rare antag. Cherish this moment, follow your objectives carefully, work with your assigned admin/moderator to ensure proper gameplay standards.
- You have no impetus to adhere to the rules on station integrity. Your end goal is complete destruction of the station, after all.
- In the VERY rare situation that you are a Nuke Operative, GET THAT
DIC-DISK. Follow standard TG Nukie protocols. Your goal is to DESTROY the station.
The Blob
“Haha does anyone else smell that? Smells like… rancid gym socks and shame…”
Blob is a DESTRUCTION antag whose goals are to destroy and infest the entire station. Please adhere to the following standards:
- Please inform your followers to NOT drag corpses deep within the Blob Pit, leave corpses where they fell! Stationers can work back to obtain them.
Brainwashed Victims
Either by fate or a lack of robustness you have ended up brainwashed by either aliens or other mechanics!
- You are still beholden to the server rules and antag rules! You are not TECHNICALLY an antagonist but a subclass of one!
- If someone breaks your sexual preferences with sexual brainwashing objectives, please AHelp, this is NOT ALLOWED.
Hypnotism
Oops, you got a little too kinky with that hypnotist bat on station. Guess you’re evil now!
- You are still beholden to the server rules and antag rules! You are TECHNICALLY not an antagonist but a subclass of one!
- If someone breaks your sexual preferences with sexual hypnotism objectives, please AHelp, this is NOT ALLOWED.
Changeling (Space or Fallen)
Or: “How I prefbreaked in one step by exploding my host mid-surgery”.
- You are not allowed to destroy the brains of players.
- PLEASE do not EROTICALLY ROLEPLAY as the person you are disguising as without their explicit consent. Doing so may result in a server ban.
- You are not permitted to kill more than your assigned objective kill limit.
- If your objectives do not include killing ‘x’ number of stationers or heads, do not kill. Follow your objectives.
- There will be times where you can't absorb more DNA without fully giving someone that good changeling succ. Doing it once to reset this is fine, as absorption does not round-remove or leave a player permanently husked. They will revive in around a minute as a Changeling Zombie.
Changeling Zombie
Or: "I didn't have Be Antagonist turned on, so why am I one now?"
- The above guidelines do apply, however there are some changes.
- As you are not able to transform, erotic roleplay is fine. Just know people may not be willing to have relations with a corpse.
- You're a mindless beast now. Attack, kill, and cause chaos to your heart's content until you yourself die again.
- Try to keep decapitations to a minimum! Aim for the chest or limbs. We understand that random decapitations can happen, but don't make a show of it by going specifically for decaps when someone is already dead!
Clown Operatives
Ya’ll already know what you’re doing.
Do the thing.
I believe in you.
Cultists
“I swear to god if you make another sex cult again I’m going to lose my shit” - Tibbets.
- PLEASE Do not destroy the brains of those you sacrifice, return them to medical or leave them in an obvious place for medical staff to recover.
- PLEASE Do not ACTUALLY summon Nar’Sie, it will completely destroy the station.
Heretics
“What’s the difference between this and cultists??”
As a heretic, you have the potential to be anything from a stealthy thief, all the way to a station ending threat. As such, the rulings for heretic will be more or less common sense.
- DO NOT kill individuals who are not sacrifice targets, outside of self-defence.
- AVOID unreasonable amounts of station destruction. Try to avoid destroying the dorms, or excessively spacing the station.
- If your target is not on station/is in a hotel room, AHelp. Staff can assign you a new sacrifice target. Else there is a ritual deeper in the research tree that lets you reroll your own targets.
Malfunctioning A.I.
“RD!!! CARD THE AI AND FRY IT IN A DEEPFRIER PLEASE!!!”
OR
“Anyone else suddenly sleepy? Why does my PDA say the air is nitrogen??”
- PLEASE don’t plasma flood the entire station, this goes without saying. It’s so obviously a ‘Do not do’ thing that you’re just going to get antagbanned.
- PLEASE Coordinate with your borgs to ensure that you do not completely round-end someone from the shift. You are beholden to your laws.
- PLEASE DO NOT Toss anyone into the supermatter just ‘because you can’.
- ADHERE TO THE GENERAL ANTAG RULES
Paradox Clone
“I can’t selfcest myself if they’re trying to kill me :(“
- PLEASE Don’t dust your clone.
- If you successfully assimilate your copy target, PLEASE don’t erp as them. It’s a MAJOR prefbreak and will result in your temporary banning.
Revolutionary
“VIVA LA REVOLUTION!!!!!”
- Just because you successfully revolt, doesn’t mean you should avoid taking P.O.W’s. You should heal and revive players that are downed and ransom them back to Centcom.
- Please don’t permanently round-end players.
- Adhere to the capture rules.
Wizards
“AAAAAAAAVADAKAAADABRAAAAAAAAAA”
- Okay, there’s no real way to get around this but please AHelp and let your admins know before you grand rune. This allows us to coordinate and get ourselves physically, mentally and spiritually ready for everyone to suddenly have AA or immortality.
- PLEASE don’t permanently round end someone. Your spells can completely remove someone from the game if you are not careful.
- You are highly unlikely to be a Wizard antag due to the seriousness of their power, and the raw RNG of the Wizardly Die of Fate. PLEASE follow your objectives to the best of your ability and avoid deviation.
- YOU ARE ALLOWED to roleplay and play as a friendly wizard, but the moment you start performing runes, you are considered VALID. Yes, even for the cheese runes.
Spiders
“Just request nuke codes tbh”
- You are not allowed to roleplay as friendly spiders. This is to remove confusion between target discernment.
- You are not allowed to permanently remove someone from the round by dragging them away from stationers. If they are downed, leave them there.
- Broodmother is allowed to web players. And players are able to request AHelps to return to round via bluespace teleportation from admins.
Cyberpolice
- To be quite honest, go as hard in the paint as you want man, you can’t really do anything to anything outside of bitrunners or VR.
- RESPECT PREFERENCES DON’T NON-CON IF THEY DO NOT HAVE IT SET TO ‘YES’.
Regal Rat
- You are allowed to mark yourself as ‘friendly’ if you do not have a swarm of rats.
- Players are not allowed to validhunt you if you do not have swarms of rats. ((IE: You just look like a regular naked crewmate rat.))
- Go crazy with chewing cable. It gives engineers something to do.
Cortical Borer
- PLEASE Follow your objectives only and do not deviate.
- You are allowed to be a friendly borer. But you CANNOT decide to kill your host without valid reason. Please be either malicious or friendly, do not false flag.
Xenomorph
“Oh hey an alien plus–MFFFMHFH”
- This will be an uncommonly used antag. Please follow and respect the antag rules CAREFULLY.
- There is a MAXIMUM of FIVE Xenomorph at one time depending on the storyteller level. High Chaos rounds have a maximum of FIVE.
- Due to this limit, please be conservative about capturing and chestbursting players.
- THE CURRENT CODEBASE FOR XENOMORPH IS EXTREMELY SCALED TOWARDS XENOMORPHS. Please try to not completely curbstomp the station an hour into the shift.
Clock Cultists
“Idk man, the chapel looks WAY cooler now.”
- You are allowed to be friendly clock cultists just spreading the word of your great Ratvar. If you are friendly, please pick only ONE area to convert to Ratvar worship.
- Hostile Clock Culties are allowed to spread through the station. PLEASE don’t false-flag in an attempt to gain ground and then turn around and be hostile once you’re fully set up. This will antagban you.
- Construct? Stay within your designated areas if friendly. This is to avoid accidental or unnecessary spreading.
- FOLLOW STANDARD ANTAG RULES.
Space Ninja
“I’m pretty sure there’s something offensive about this… just can’t put my finger on it...”
- Please follow your antag objectives. Please do not deviate from them.
- You are not allowed to be a friendly space ninja. Due to the nature of the role and the power of the antag, it is currently hard or impossible to identify as a friendly space ninja.
Spy
“No one uses newspaper to hide anymore these days… too cliche.”
- Follow your antag goals. Please do not deviate.
- You know what you need to do: Do it. You’re a spy, you’re here to commit tax fraud and corporate espionage.
- Try not to kill everyone you see. You’re not Jason Bourne or James bond.
Traitor
“How the fuck do I gain telecrystals???”
- You are to adhere to your objectives: Essentially complete your objectives, and you’re free to do whatever you need to do within reason.
- Do not target other antagonists: If you need to take out an antagonist, like say a cultist that is trying to sacrifice your assassination target. Go for it. But don’t do it for security, do it for you. On top of this, please do not deliberately make an objective to take out another antagonist.
- If there is a significant roleplay reason for this, you may AHelp it.
- Work with other traitors.. Or work alone: You have the pass code system, other traitors can be identified by utilizing this. Helps you figure out who is who.
Nightmare
“CE here. I’m cryoing for the shift.”
- Please follow your antag objectives. Please do not deviate from them.
- You are not allowed to be a friendly nightmare. Due to the nature of the role and the power of the antag, it is currently hard or impossible to identify as a friendly nightmare.
Voidwalker
Or: ‘How Xenobiology became Five Nights at Nanotrasen.’
- Please don’t bully xenobiology. Come on, man.
- YOUR GOAL IS NOT TO SPACE THE STATION.
- It is NOT possible to be a friendly voidwalker, please follow your antag guidelines and objectives!
Pirates
“YARR HARR FIDDLE-DEE-DEE, BEING A PIRATE IS ALRIGHT TO MEE!”
- Please follow your antag objectives. Please do not deviate from them.
- You are allowed to be friendly pirates. Please be creative in your reasoning. This could be anywhere between “Hey sell us grog” or “Give us your hottest wenches”. Be creative!!
- PLEASE Don’t park the shuttle in arrivals, cargo or departures. Doing this may get you antagbanned.
- DO NOT False flag as pirate. This means signifying yourself as friendly and then immediately going to blast a hole in security – you will be antagbanned.
Obsession
“This could go very wrong, very fast…” – SPLURT Admin
- Please follow your antag objectives. Please do not deviate from them.
- IF YOU ARE UNCOMFORTABLE WITH YOUR OBSESSION. Please make an AHelp or opfor update. The admins are more than happy to change your obsession target!!
- PLEASE RESPECT PREFERENCES. DO NOT be fucking weird about obsession. Listen to LOOC, Respect Non-con!
Space Dragon
“CHEF TO SECURITY.”
- Please follow your antag objectives. Please do not deviate from them.
- You are not allowed to be a friendly Space Dragon. Due to the way your rift/portal works, it can spawn in a place that’s naturally destructive to the station! It can present a challenge for friendly space dragon!
GHOST ROLES
Persistence
“Please for the love of god stop throwing ashwalkers in the lava. -Kate”
- Please follow your role’s job properly. You are expected to adhere to your jobs duties and goals. Above all you are to maintain secrecy.
- Do not interact with NT personnel. Unless undercover. Your cover is crucial to the mission. Do not break cover. You are there to be a listening post, your cover is that of a mining crawler. You have the facilities, the abilities and personnel to complete your mission and survive in isolation for as long as the mission requires. Try not to break that cover under any circumstances. If you are reviving dead miners, as an act of good faith. Make sure they find themselves back outside the mining outpost when they wake, if they wake earlier, then you’re free to provide them some spare supplies if you can manage it and have the ability to reproduce it. And send them on their way.
- Additionally. You may interact with them if it keeps your cover. Such as going out to produce mining materials. And if you spot one of them, you’re free to speak to them in passing, just try not to take up too much time interacting with opposing forces or the locals!
- You are legitimate. At least in the eyes of NT, you’re a cover for the main syndicate faction, the biggest most powerful one. But you are legitimate under the guise of Cybersun’s mining corps, Exagon-Ichikawa. If anyone asks, that’s what you are. But you can be more vague and just say you’re a Cybersun mining crawler. That's what everyone else does.
- Do not abandon the Persistence. Unless its under extreme circumstances. IE, you're under complete threat of subjugation from NT and activated your self-destruct; or mining had colossus a wee too close and now half the ship is destroyed.
- You may interact with Port Tarkon. As it says. You can communicate with Tarkon under the idea that you are trading with them. After all, you’re a mining ship crawler right?
- Do not assist antagonists in attacking NT personnel or equipment. This says it all. Secrecy above all else. You serve as mostly a listening post and mining outpost for a faction of the syndicate. If other syndicate are on station and are causing chaos, you are not to assist or take part.
- Use common sense. Your entire theme for this is maintaining a listening post for the Local Syndicate faction. You are listening in on NT comms and monitoring their situation to undermine the corporations hold on the sector. Please make sure you’re not going against this.
- Remember. Common sense includes doing your job. If you pop in as a security member on Persistence, check on the prisoners. You have hostages, you need to occasionally check on them. Otherwise, why are they even there? Hell, you could probably put them to work even under supervision. Get creative with the uses of the prisoner(s).
- Black market stuff. This should be self explanatory but it needs to be said, do not sell your round start stuff. Black market sales are fine. Make sure you are producing supplies though, you don’t wanna start selling your actual equipment. And do not abuse the system, staff can and will take it away from you if you do this. Abuse could be something from selling round start gear to spamming the system.
- Public Communications. For the love of GOD, do not use the common frequency aboard the Persistence. You have dedicated comms (:w). Do not use Common and let NT know where you are. The only time comms should be used going outwards from the Persistence is the Admiral or Liaison trying to break a deal with the station to keep the operation intact.
- DO NOT DESTROY OTHER GHOST ROLES. Long and short, do not target ash walkers, hermit spawns, generally any spawn points. If they start violence with you, you may defend yourselves. However actively pursuing removal of a ghost role spawn point is grounds for immediate removal of any and all ghost roles and antagonist privileges.
Port Tarkon
“Why are we still here? Just to suffer?”
- Port Tarkon Personnel. You are free to trade and research to your hearts content. But please be aware you’re not to leave your location unless absolutely necessary.
- Relations with others. Tend to be neutral across the board with some exceptions. You are free to interact with NT and the Syndicate. But visitors are to be heavily scrutinized and are not protected under NT space law. But the law of your port.
- Please do not go on a murder spree. The previous sentence says it all. Play to your characters logic, you’re a port station of traders and scientists. Don’t go and commit murder against everyone.
Charlie Station
“When will we get to go home? -Charlie station Scientist”
- Your entire goal here is to survive. You along with others, the main goal is to survive and repair the station best you can, your second priority should be contacting NT. If at all possible.
- Remember NT’s enemies are your enemies. If you encounter syndicate, you still the enemy. You are NT personnel still. Even if you’ve been in cryo for so many years. Defend yourselves and the lives of your still sleeping crew members in the cryo pods.
- Do your best or die. You are the last hope for those in the cryopods still. You should make sure you prioritize keeping them safe. In case any of them wake up!
Ashwalkers
“Keep away from our most ssssacred place! -Unknown Ashwalker Guardian”
- You are an Ashwalker. You are a native of lavaland. Roleplay as such. You are a tribal. With very, very little knowledge of those strange space creatures.
- Tribal rituals. These are very important to the ashwalkers. As well as the legion temple. It is the charge of the centurion but the tribe uses this land as its home. The temple is made by your culture. The drakes the protectors of it. Revere them as such.
- You may have relations with others. The strange space invaders (NT and Syndicate) You may choose to either be hostile to outsiders or not (This does not mean directly moving to violence. Follow Escalation), but make sure to let your other ashwalkers know. The other factions may be hostile to you off the get go. So be aware of this.
- Regarding being on station. You are still a tribal, you are supposed to be scared of the giant mechanical thing that is the space station and its machines. Don’t go on the station. The mining outpost is fine just don’t get in the shuttle.
Hermits
“Aw shit.. Here we go again. -Man lost in space”
- You are alone. There's no help coming, nobody out there that you know of. Your ship crashed. So you gotta make it on your own for now.
- Any company is welcome company. A pet, another creature that can speak. Hell a pet rock or ball. Don’t go crazy out there.
- Watch out for space carp! You are alone, you should probably fix yourself a comfortable place to reside, but first you should most likely fashion a weapon. There are still evil space carp out to get you. They are a very real threat…
- QUICK The SOS sign! Light the fire! Watch out for others! If someone comes across your crash site. You may choose to go with them to salvation. But you also may choose to stay and live your life out in your little hermit spot. Its up to you if you get rescued.
Ghost Cafe
“Well…. This is quaint.. -Visitor D-9341”
- This is pretty simple… Right? You’re either staff in a cafe, or a patron coming in to relax. You serve drinks, and make small talk to patrons! Or you can you know… do the dirty.
- No antag stuff here. Self explanatory. Don’t go doing weird antag things like invading the station via a Teleport relay. And going on a killing spree or sabotaging stuff.
- Sometimes you just need a little breather. This role is very calm, and enjoyable. It's like a resort really, fully separated from the station with absolutely zero communication. Feel free to relax here, you’re not expected to do some chaotic stuff if there's a chaos round going on. Enjoy the break, you earned it.
